What's a good CD changer

Postby MeaCulpa20v » Mon Oct 02, 2006 11:42 pm

I'm sick of my Panasonic POS CD changer skipping over the slightest bumps, haha. I'm looking to get another NOT indash CD changer. And external CD changer. I have heard great things about the Alpine one that can read CD-R's.

What do you guys think?

what do i think? i didn't even know people still used cd's...

seriously though, i hooked my ipod up to a sony deck i have in my corrado (plays mp3 cd's too, but i never use them), and never have a need for cd's... if a friend wants to hear something i don't have, and they have the cd with them, i can pop it in, but a 20gig ipod half-full of music does me just fine. might be worth thinking about. apple's having a sale on their website right now, refurbished 30gig iPod video's for $179. tough to beat that, i think you'd spend almost that much on a new good-quality changer. :thumb: if you dont' wanna spend that much, they also have refurbished ipod nano 2gigs for $99. good luck! (on a side note, if i did want a changer, sony makes a 10disc changer that plugs into my deck that plays mp3 cd's).
so euro, it hurts...

I had the kenwood version of that, worked great for about 3 years, then the thing just crapped out! :thumbsdow. took the hard drive out of the cartridge and put it in an external case, now i have a 20gb ext hdd.
back on subject, i believe every major stereo brand sell ipod adapters for their stereos where you can control it through the head unit, at least i know kenwood does. not as much functionality as the ipod, but if you just play on random, works fine. and if you have a screen with video input, you can play the videos from the ipod on it, but not controlled through the head unit.
(EDIT: i'm running a 5.5G video ipod with the kenwood KDC-ip500 adapter in both cars, and haven't had a problem yet. it keeps the ipod charged, and plugs into the cd changer port. if you have any questions about it, ask me)

Yeh, they don't make those anymore. You might be able to sell that thing for a pretty penny in the near future.

Hello.
A CD changer is a CD player that you can put more than one CD in at a time and then select which CD you want to listen too. 3 CD changers are fairly common. There are models that go in the trunk that can hold a lot more.

Are you for real? Do you even read the posts? Sounds like a bot, and I'll lobby to give you the banhammer for not reading posts and sounding like a bot.
