Installing XM in a MKIV Jetta

Postby aggiepm » Wed Apr 04, 2007 10:53 am

OK so I just bought a new deck and the XM tuner add on....

I don't have it yet but I am just curious, how do you install the antenna? Where do you put it? How do you run the wire? I have been told you can put it on top of the dash and it works good.

anyone? ideas? thoughts?

I have Sirius and I just put my antenna in the corner of my windshield on the drivers side. It basically sits right between my boost guage and the windshield. I then ran the wires up behind the A Pillar panel and under the roof liner to the Sirius unit. Since you'll be going to the deck, it would be much easier. As far as reception, I sometimes lose it going under underpasses at slower speeds, but I think that's common no matter where it's mounted.
