I am behind schedule today.

"Why?", you ask.

Because my dog got sprayed by a friggin' skunk in my friggin' backyard when I let him out at ten minutes to friggin' 5 this morning!

If you are the bully you don't learn that until you go looking for a job and the nerd you beat up from grade school through high school is your boss and hired you cause he felt sorry for you.

I love it when people can't stand for anyone to have something nice....so they EGG THEIR NICE CAR.

I was pretty upset when John came into the house this morning and told me someone had egged our cars last night  The BL GLI was hit the hardest, leaving a spot on the drivers side rear fender near the taillight where the paint was taken off. We were able to get it all off but it was the whole drivers side from top to bottom was covered in egg. They got his Fox too  Can't wait to get our new house which comes with an oversized 1 car garage so that will be her safehaven from now on.

I absolutely abhor the use of quotes that are taken so out of context that they are now understood to be the exact opposite of what the original meaning was. WELL today, I failed it for the first time. I HAVE to pass it before I can go on a fire. If this were a seasonal position. I would have just been fired but my Supervisor is RAD, and gave me a week to get it done in.

So this evening, I took off for a ride, and again fell flat on my ass. I couldnt ride even close to as far or fast as I can down in Sac, so I have come to the conclusion, that the FUCKIN ALTITUDE is kicking my ass, cause I have been riding in Sac. Well that and being fat and old didn't help ether. I'm also thinking that the Sitting in the Ambulance and eating McDonald's on and off for the last 3 years didnnt help shit ether. :wiggle:

Just got back from a little party. I guess one of the guys at this party really liked my europlate on the GLI.
He liked it so much in fact, that he decided he wanted one.
That would have been cool... except he decided he liked mine, and tore it off my bumper.

I didn't witness this happen, but one of my friends found it bent up on the lawn when he saw someone toss it there. We asked hella people about it, and nobody claimed responsibility (go figure, right?).

Must have talked to twenty or thirty people, when my friend (who was probably more angry than I was), actually found the guy that did it.

And the guy copped to it. He actually admitted wrongdoing, and offered to help flatten it out if possible, and put it back on.

I'm still amazed. What kind of person who just rips something off a nice car in his own personal interests (said it would look good on his wall), actually admits fault when questioned, and offers to try and resolve the issue?

On a related note: anyone know if pressing europlates will straighten them back out at all? I was thinking putting it between two pieces of wood, and putting something heavy on it. Worth a try?

Worth a try? Sure. I wouldn't expect it to get flat again, though. Metal tends to have a bit of 'spring back' that has to be compensated for, so to get a desired shape, you actually have to 'over form' it so that the 'spring back' results in it ending up in the desired final condition. To get it to form completely flat in the method you describe requires heat. Heat the tooling and the workpiece, then press, hold, and then allow it to cool (in the tooling) to ambient. The heat required is almost always higher than what a coating can withstand. Keeping springback in mind, you may be able to 'correct' individual bends by 'over forming' them on a mandrel/buck so the plate comes back to the correct flat condition. If you have bends that cross each other, you're screwed. Correcting the bends will result in puckered/warped final condition - particularly at the intersection of the bends.

(Sorry for the long post on this - one of the things we do here at work is hot forming of Beryllium metal...)

If you have a job at 18 dollars a hour. That has your name on your pay stub. How are your parents gonna force you to save? Plus you pay all your bills?

And there is a problem with saving money? :hmm:

If you have a job that's paying that much for a kid your age, you should be saving as much as you can.

Why does ones differential have to coincidentally explode while DEcelerating after going off road causing ones wife to believe you were farting off?

Now I know what that oh so slight vibration was when on the on-ramp entering the freeway for the past few months.

Ah, valid reason...That sucks. ;) Though with you I'm surprised you didnt get it quicker. I remember you blew the head gasket on the 2002 one night at like 8 when I was fixing the rabbit and it was fixed before midnight.... You getting old on us Charlie? :p
