Coilovers with OEM 18" Aristos, do I need to roll the fenders?

Postby t0kie » Sat Aug 01, 2009 11:43 pm

My car is 03 GTI 1.8T FWD, AWP engine with 18" OEM Aristos wheels and will put 225/40/18 tires all around (now still have Kumho Ecsta MX 245/40/18 installed that I'm trying to sell/trade them with 225/40/18, anyone interested please let me know too).
I'm planning to put FK coils & have a question: do I need to roll the fenders to avoid rubbing, or no need to do it if I just do a decent drop/not too low?

TIA

You don't need to unless you're going crazy low.

And if you are going crazy low :Endlinks but I doubt you'll need it.

No, I don't plan to go crazy low. So I also need this inner sway bar insert? What do they do?

from my experience with aristos, i had to use spacers in the front to clear my front struts.

My 20th is all the way down on PSS9s & GLI RCs and I don't rub at all. In fact, I did have to add 7mm spacers in the front to clear the adjuster rings on the struts & added 15mm spacers to the rear to balance things out. If you don't slam the thing, you should be fine.
