Diesel shop oak/east bay

Postby fifty » Sun Jan 08, 2012 11:02 pm

I just picked up a new to me...in unknown shape 91 Jetta GL diesel... I know almost nothing about it other than it was a great deal and I need a commuter.

I am looking for shop that knows these old diesels...the tricks and all to keep them running...

I am looking for some place either around oakland or concord area as I go back and forth!

Thanks for the help!

Anything VW-related I would bring to Tim and the guys at Tomas Sport Tuning. Tim knows his dubs, so give him a call. They're not too far either, just off 80 in Albany/El Cerrito I think.

Any local places to support for parts orders? Or even maybe a sponsor of the board for interent orders? I need to replace all my door handles, the plastic rings...(locksmith even said the mechanism thats inside the door jam.)

I cant wait to be able to lock my doors :eyes:

You probably CAN if you don't stop, but given traffic and stop lights and such, you might not make it. Don't risk it and just tow it.

Too bad you can't change the belt yourself, it's actually really easy. If I was local to you, I'd do it for you.
