Needing some help with my 61' bug

Postby Pierce826 » Tue Aug 21, 2012 2:37 pm

Like the title states I need some help with my 61' bug. If anyone thinks they can give me hand that would be much appriciated. I'm located in Natomas. Just moved here so don't know to many Vw folks. Reply here or message me for more info.

Thanks
Joe

hey dude welcome to sac! I don't think there is an organized air cooled club anymore.... but you can also try posting on http://forums.sacwater.net there is lots of knowledge with those guys too even though its a water cooled club.

I've noticed that there isn't much of air coolers around. I like both mostly mk1s got two back home but pick this up a few months back and enjoying it! But I'll check it out and hopefully I can find something. Thanks man!

Check out Tru dubs, they are air cooled and somewhat local, iirc. Not sure how active they are anymore. Next weekend is Bugorama at Sac raceway. You are sure to find some aircooled knowledge and parts there.

I'm close to Natomas also, right over the levee at the east end of Del Paso Rd. If you need any help or VW specific tools, let me know.

Oh that's super close to me. I'm right on the corner of el centro and duckhorn. I just have a weird clicking noise coming from my rear as if it was fulcrum plates but already replaced those about a month ago. And it's not slammed anymore. If your free tomorrow anytime after 1pm that'd be cool if you could just take a look and see what your input is. And I may need help with link and king pins if you've ever done them

I've never worked on a/c, and I'm too busy the rest of this week getting ready for a camping trip(shopping, cleaning, sister flying down). Sorry, I can refer you, but that's about it right now.

What ever works I'm more of a water cooled guy myself but couldn't pass up the opportunity on this one. Just let me know if you can get some to look/help with some stuff
