24V spark plug wires

Postby my02vr6 » Wed Mar 21, 2007 1:13 am

This may be a stupid question, but do they make them for the VR? Besides the standalone ignition systems, that is. Or am I stuck with the bunch of ugly wires under my engine cover? :thumbsdow
I want to run around with the engine cover off, but i'm not too thrilled about the mess of wires electrical taped together on top of the manifold. Thanks everyone.

Yeah i would like to know the answer to this question as well, cuz it does look pretty ugly under our cover, i want it to look clean like a 12v VR...

Welp, for one thing, 12v's use a distributor whereas our 24v's use coilpacks on top of the sparkplugs. You'll notice about 3 wires per sparkplug. I don't know how you'd clean that up without a serious rewire of your coilpacks, which won't be fun.

I've been running around with no cover for a while and it looks fine to me. I don't know what you mean by electrical tape unless you're talking about tape that keeps the wire loom from slipping off. Take a pic of your engine bay without the cover so others can see what you're talking about

I don't have an answer for anything, but I have to say it's good to see people talk about VR's!

Heh ok fine. I keep forgetting that 12V Vr6s use a central coilpack, whereas teh 24v has them on top of the spark plugs. BTW, how's the blender?

eh, that's what i was afraid of. there are a few pcs of tape in a couple places, i'll just take em off, and see what cleanin up i can do. both my batteries for my camera are dead, i'll take pics later.

Ahh, I remember now.

Welp, you could fabricate a plastic cover to go over that wire pathway.

On my car, I left the little rubber ring around the oil cap, to catch drips and stuff.

Is that a stock airbox I see on the right?
