What I want is good handling, better braking, as much power as I can get without sacrificing alot of milage.

I have a set of sport springs and shocks from a Corrado(I hope they fit a mk3). My wants are upgrade the brakes(that is if 11" brakes will fit inside a set of 14" teardrops), new better sounding exhaust, CAI, chip, cam and anything else that I can do to this engine to make it better. Its already better since I fixed the timing but I want it more better. :eyes:

The best thing i think you can do to it is put a Turbo in it. I have a 1994 Golf GL and i love that little car i am planning to get a Turbo for it i think im going with eip turbo. Exhaust, chip and cam would do pretty good. Im not that good with German cars but i have done a lot of research and i mean alot. Exhaust, chip and cam is what im planning on doing til i get my turbo also try to get the same exhaust and chip from the same company its matched better im going for TT exhaust, chip and cam

Anyone plz correct if im wrong
Thanks MARCO

why do a cam if you are going to throw a turbo at it? you will spend the money to put the cam in and then have to take it out when you put the turbo on.

suspension first, brakes, then the go! if you want to do it right just get a second motor and build it up! ABA motors are cheap. Benn (moterworks) has one for sale. if you are going to turbo that motor just build the bottom end.

Why would i need to remove the cam after installing the turbo? and the turbo i will not get until early Feb. What parts of the bottom end would i need to replace place list
Thanks Marco

they make cams designed for turbos. big NA cam may be working against the forced induction untill the top end.

ABA has a forged crank but depending on boost the rods and pistons may become weak. forge it all and call it a day. in theory... do it once, do it right. try and save a buck, you'll spend two!

there is a link with some good info... they talk about the whole cam thing

there are pros and cons of both. Like a turbo does not take hp to run but a sc has a quicker response. iirc.

11 inch brakes will not fit under 14 inch wheels 15 are as small as you can go with 11's

SHIT!! I was hoping to keep the teardrops. But I could upgrade the brakes to 11's and get some 15" rims. So if I wanna go with 12's I have to get 16" rims... Right?

thats more than likely correct i myself have not gone bigger than 11's but i do recall the front upgrade i did on my 85 golf where from the audi 5000 quattro dual piston calipers and they just missed the 15's i had on that car. and that was more than enough braking power
