GLI/GTI 2.0T owners Thread

Postby vr6cj » Mon Nov 12, 2007 11:13 pm

So I thought it'd be cool for us on here to talk in general about are new 2.0T engine, tuning, upgrades etc.

I'll start:
I've had mine for about 2 mounths now and love it. Still havent chipped it but after the new year I will. Been waiting to get ECU read via vag com so I can tell the Revo guys my ECU code to find out if they can flash it. Also got this headlight recall from vwoa and I've heard theres a new oem flash they're surprising us with. So wanted that done before my flash too.

Got the suitcase cut out already and am just runnning the single resinator. Got the ATP D/P in garage awaiting a 90* bung for the o2 sensor so it doesnt throw a CEL, but there on B/O.

Got the Neuspeed intake installed. It's cool. Love being able to hear the turbo spool up now and free it up. Got my boost gauge in too.

Got the Eurojet pvc fix.

Painted the stock valances myself.

Installed Koni sport springs and kept the oem struts for now. Man what a chore to install springs on this car.

Put 16mm rear and 8mm front H&R spacers on. Looks nice.

Going order the A3 throttle pipe to eliminate the noise pipe and reduce some cabin noise for when i get that 3" ATP D/P on. lol

Guess that's all now. lets some posts get going.

As for my GLI....

35mm offset is too much for any wheel on the MK5!

My 2.0T consumes a little oil, I have to keep up on it.

I just noticed it runs a little rough, had misfires on 1,3, and 4. Stock everything on the motor.

Did OEM LED's out back with amber turns.

Can't lower it till either I go wider on fenders or do some 45mm offset wheels.

Go <<<<<<< wider >>>>>>>>

I just wanted to let you all know be careful with the wheel hop. I broke my oil filler stove pipe fortunately at the bottom of the stove pipe they you can put the oil cap on. so I don't have to buy a new valve cover. I think mine was cracked or something cuz I have better vacuum. Just wanted to let you all know in case it happens to you. I'll try to get pics up later if your confused.
