That's a pretty nice coupe, can't wait to see the final project: MK3 Jetta R32

He has a full haldex and R motor from a R32 going into that thing, with a GT42R turbo :whoa:

Really didn't know that many people built MK3 Jetta coupes. I know there was one or two made from the factory, and I've seen one other built. It would look kinda funny with the rear doors welded, I think. I guess Id have to see it though. Thanks for enlightening me :thumb:

So who's putting the honda motor in the coupe? Cause that would be dum. D-U-M. dum :hmm:

That was a gorgeous 1552design build. It was HAWT...and looked just like the official Concept CJ (Coupe Jetta) that VW built before the Mk4 was released. Hard ass time getting quarter windows made. I believe that car is still around.

iwanaleya wrote:Actually J they cut the rear quarter sections from a GTi and weld them in. That is if they are doing it the right way, because there are plenty of people who just weld the doors

they do that to keep the integrity of the roof and subframe, right? that would be the right way to do it, then they could just use the rear glass from the GTI instead of fabbing new glass.
i still think it would look funny with regular front doors and rear doors welded
That 1552 design MK4 Coupe is hawt. I have a couple pics of it on my computer. Too bad they didn't produce them, but americans like the 4 door jettas, so it wouldn't have made enough to validate the production. oh well, makes it even more rare when one is built :thumb:

I never was terribly happy with the look of the GTI/Golf glass on one of those conversions. The top rear corner of the glass always looked a bit wierd to my eye. Angles were just not quite right.

Glad to see things are working out well for the shop, Jim. Have to see about a diff, one of these days.
