Milltek Exhaust for 02 GTI VR6 12v

Postby jtarrod » Wed Sep 10, 2008 1:34 pm

Hello all,

I'm new to the forum and back in the water cooled VW game. I picked up an 02 GTI VR6 12v a couple of weeks ago and am looking to upgrade performance. I've already added the Neuspeed P-Flow intake which sounds and performs really well.

I want a good performing exhaust that isn't loud and was told that I can get that with the Milltek exhaust. Anyone currently using that exhaust that can verify?

If it sounds good and performs well I'll get one. Does anyone know where I can get a good deal on the full exhaust from the cat to the back?

I drive a 24v Vr6 gti not the 12v so not sure if it will exactly be the same.

over stock the milltek catback with resonator was barely even noticeable as far as sound goes. it was barely louder. i got annoyed because i wanted to hear what a VR should sound like so i had the resonator removed and it sounded so much better to me. sounded louder but not irritating. doesnt drone either.

according to my butt dyno, it felt a tad bit quicker but nothing really significant. at the same time my only support mods were a neuspeed CAI and thats it.

I went with Techtonics with Borla. I made a quick soundbyte video here if you want to hear it:

I got it from MJM Autohaus

2008 Yamaha R6

NOOOOO on the resonator delete, I tried it and make my 24v sound like azz. Just wait for a proper exhaust system, don't mickey mouse with the stock one, believe me :funny:

Griffen Motorwerks in Bezerkely is the dealer...I'd get a sounding from people who have been there before you go though. I haven't heard too many good things but ya never know, things may have changed for the better. :thumb:

my neighbor has a milltek on his vr6, i like the sound of it, deep low rumble to it, perfect for me, i also like the neuspeed lunisport had on his 24v vr6.

to me i think most exhaust system put out just the sam amount of performance
