mk4 recall

Postby vwabbitman » Mon Feb 26, 2007 9:01 pm

i saw this on a vw yahoo group. if its old news oh well.

Thats right. Just today VW said they would recall close to 800,000 of their vehicles in North America. Models in question are Jetta, New Beetle and the Golf for faulty brake lights. If you own one of the three in question for the model years 1999 thru 2006 you may want to read the following article.

MkIV were the problem...for the 3rd time. Faulty installation the last two. It was too easy to break the switches when installing. Remember from our drive, you almost hit him I believe.

oh duh mk5 is 2007 up or is it 06. i didnt worry about watching his brake lights i watched everyone elses. i do the same thing when i drive normally. i watch EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE. im a semi-nervous and cautious driver, thats y i have never been in a multiple car accident... while i was the driver. i dont freak out when stuff happens i stay calm and notice a accident about to start or notice someone that is gonna get in an accident and get away from them. thats y if you ever drive with me you notice i go past a few cars a little faster than everyone else but with a little more caution. i guess i have just learned how to spot trouble before it happens. but anyways.

I noticed when my brake light switch failed while it was in service for engine troubles. I watched the service guy park it out front, and the brake lights never went out. :thumb:

its upsetting that there are so many recalls. and the thing is (for the most part anyway) it's minor stuff. oh well
"On a given day, a given circumstance, you think you have a limit. And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit, and you think, 'Okay, this is the limit'. And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high." - Ayrton Senna

Does anybody know if there is a time limit on these recalls. I now have four. I just dont want the dealer to touch my car. I get it back worse than when I got it.
