FS: ($11,750) 2003 Volkswagen GTI 20th Anniversary Edition, 39.5k miles, BMP, SF bay

Postby coleleahy » Tue Jun 30, 2009 9:21 am

My GTI 20th AE (black magic pearl) is a blast to drive! And with only 4200 manufactured, it's a collector's item. Plus it has only 39.5k miles.

The turbocharged 1.8L inline four delivers 180 horses, and gets 23 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.

Standard features include lowered suspension, 18-inch wheels, red brake calipers, Recaro bucket seats, silky golf-ball shifter, leather steering wheel, power sunroof, brushed metal pedals and trim, 30% tint on front driver and passenger windows, and 15% tint on rear windows and hatch.

Add-ons include LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System, which protects your car from thieves and reduces your insurance premium, and IceLink interface, which integrates your iPod or iPhone with the car's audio system. See http://www.lojack.com/why/page....aspx and http://www.dension.com/index.php?pageID=175 for more on these products.

Just received meticulous 40k-mile service from Streetwerke, the Volkswagen performance specialists in Palo Alto, CA, who have performed all recent service on this car. Plus, they installed new Goodyear Eagle F1 All Season XL tires 3k miles ago.

Bought for $15,750 about 9k miles ago. Asking $12,850. This is lower than I wanted to go on this car, but I need to sell it as soon as possible!

Call me at 650-353-0553 with inquiries. Or email coleleahy [at] gmail [dot] com.

(Please note: I live in Palo Alto, CA. But I'm moving to Cambridge, MA, on August 20, and would consider driving the car cross-country for you to buy. Of course, this would cost extra.)

I tried to delete it earlier today, since I reduced my asking price. Seems to have worked. Sorry for the confusion.

Back to selling this car . . .

Postby coleleahy » Sun Jul 05, 2009 6:39 pm

Just in case people don't want to search through the clutter of this thread, here's my pitch again:

My GTI 20th AE is a blast to drive! And with only 4200 manufactured, it's a collector's item. Plus it has only 39.5k miles.

The turbocharged 1.8L inline four delivers 180 horses, and gets 23 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.

Bought for $15,750 about 9k miles ago. Asking $13,750 but very willing to negotiate, as I need to sell this in the next three weeks.

I really gotta sell this before moving to Massachusetts on July 29. I already have a plane ticket, and I'm sure they won't allow the car on board next to me.

Make an offer! :thumb:

Have you tried Craigslist and/or Carmax? I've never tried selling a car at Carmax, but I heard they give a decent price. How about Watercooled Militia or the vortex?

I've already got an ad at the vortex, but couldn't easily see how to post one at watercooled militia when I tried a few weeks back. Tips?

Please would a moderator change the thread title so that instead of "$13,750" it reads "$12,850"?

This car needs to get SOLD. :thumb:
